Welcome to another edition of Casual Friday, the open thread where we venture away from Seattle Seahawks discourse and into other topics.

This week’s theme is inspired by a comment made by Ahenobarbus that got some good engagement. How did you come up with your username when you created your SB Nation account?

Ahenobarbus
In this era of Facebook and Xitter where anonymity ist verboten, it's nice to have places like this where the old days of the internet with its pseudonymous posting remains a thing. So how about it, what's your username mean and why did you pick it? And, if it's your real name, well you can tell us why you went that route, too.
So yeah, in Latin my name means Bronzebeard, which in English sounds very Nordic (or dwarvish), but while I do in fact have a red beard myself I chose it because it's the cognomen of one of my favorite historical figures, Gnaeus Domitius Ahenobarbus (consul 32 BCE), who like his father Lucius fought the good fight against the Caesars. His one mistake though was in backing Antonius when he could have taken command himself, which is still a conundrum. Anyway, yes regrettably I am not in fact a 2,100 year old Roman consul, but simply in my decades-long infatuation with classical studies I came to identify with him for a variety of reasons, and if I get my druthers I may even write a biography of him. If I do, Shakespeare has kindly provided me with the title for it.
Et tu?

Here’s a look at some of the responses:

Mountainhawker
I uh...I'm a Hawks fan and I live in the mountains. I'm not sure I live up to your standards of naming

Nshima
Nshima is the national food of Zambia, where I spent most of my childhood.

TwoPolesOneChain
Mine is because the single most comical thing about this sport is that bit where the NFL is the league with the best athletes the best cutting edge sports science and support systems, using the most advanced tracking and evaluation systems and strategies involving advanced tech to track the very movements of players in this sport of ours that depends on the position of the ball. And how do we determine the position of the ball? Bring out two poles and a chain!

Sporkhead
My head is a spork. Made dating super awkward but on the plus side I never have to style my hair
