I saw Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell watching from the field, and head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider sitting together watching from the stands. Seahawks.com Blog | Nickell Robey: Little big man
"That’s why I run like I’ve got a chip on my shoulder, I jump like I’ve got a chip on my shoulder," Robey said Sunday. "Because they say I’m not a prototypical corner. I’m not 5-10, 5-11, 6-foot. And I’m not 190, 180, or whatever. "That’s why I go so hard and I try to go extra hard. Just to prove that it isn’t all about size. You can’t measure heart."

Star Lotulelei has a heart condition " Seahawks Draft Blog
Hard to say how this effects his draft stock, although suddenly that issue is barely significant. According to his agent he’ll work out at the Utah pro-day on March 20th. He could have surgery to rectify the problem and make a swift and full recovery. It could potentially improve his quality of life and be no issue at the next level. But it’s something teams will look into. In other news…

Scouting Combine: Day Five live blog " Seahawks Draft Blog
I thought Patterson hurt himself today. He might still be a top-15 pick based on upside, straight line speed and the ability to score any time the ball’s in his hands. However, you’re going to have to coach him up in a big way. Otherwise he’ll wing it, which is pretty much what he did at Tennessee. And winging it in the NFL will kill a quarterback.

Desmond Trufant upholding family name at combine | Seahawks Insider - The News Tribune
"I feel like they’re way more relaxed and chill on the field," Desmond Trufant said. "I think just being the youngest brother, I’ve always had to fight my way onto the court or the field. Or just to play video games – just anything with them. And it definitely translated to the field." But he’s just as proud of the legacy established by his older brothers, and looked forward to joining them in the NFL.

NFP Sunday Blitz | National Football Post
So many NFL people in Indianapolis want to talk with John Harbaugh, Manti Te’o, Drew Rosenhaus or Ryan Grigson. The most popular person at the combine should be someone else.

Seahawks.com Blog | Datone Jones no stranger to Pete Carroll
"It was unbelievable," Jones said of playing for Mora. "He’s a great guy. He’s a players’ coach. He’s going to fire you up. He’s going to expect the best. "One thing he told us when he came in, in his first team meeting, he said, ‘If you have aspirations of playing at the next level, then I’m your guy.’ He said, ‘I’m bringing an NFL staff in here, coaches that have never coached college football before.’ He said, ‘If this is your senior year, this is your rookie year.’ "

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported via Twitter that the 49ers have sewed up negotiations with a willing trade partner. From the combine: In drills, Denard Robinson shows great improvement as a receiver | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
Former Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson's relative inability to show much as a receiver or return man during the Senior Bowl week in January had some wondering where he might fit in the NFL. Some pro teams have talked to him about possibly moving to cornerback, but during Sunday's receiver drills, Robinson showed that he's put in a great deal of work in the last month.

2013 NFL Combine: Denard Robinson explosive, versatile, worth risk - NFL, NFLDRAFT - CBSSports.com News, Rumors, Scores, Stats, Fantasy
Robinson's not perfect, but when you're the only player in college history to both pass and rush for over 1,500 yards in a season, well, that's not so terrible. The NFL potential for Robinson is huge. Put Robinson at punt returner, also play him at wide receiver, a little at running back. He'd prosper in a place like New England or with the Steelers or even in Dallas. There a number of places where he'd prosper because he's a football player.

The Best On-Field RB Prospect No One is Talking About | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio
When I watch Temple running back Montel Harris, the former Boston College star reminds of backs like Priest Holmes, Jerome Harrison, and Ahmad Bradshaw. I shared a game of his against Clemson with Draft Breakdown-Rotoworld-B/R analyst Eric Stoner and he was equally impressed. He commented on the strength and flexibility of his ankles, his creativity, and his versatility with scheme. He conjured late-career Tiki Barber or a less explosive Reggie Bush.

Projecting Trent Richardson and Alfred Morris, a year later
In the pre-season, I wrote three pieces on Cleveland Browns rookie Trent Richardson. As part of a thought experiment, I wondered who would lead the NFL in rushing yards from 2012 to 2021? I narrowed my finalists to LeSean McCoy, Beanie Wells (was I drunk?), DeMarco Murray (ouch), Richardson and the rest of the rookies, and then a few college running backs. I concluded that Richardson was the obvious frontrunner, with McCoy, Doug Martin, and Marcus Lattimore (double ouch) as the next best bets. I’m not really sure 2012 helped clarify the issue, although Martin and Alfred Morris certainly raised their chances.

Falcons to spend more time on read-option defense | ProFootballTalk
The proliferation of the read-option offense is spawning plenty of copycats. It’s also forcing teams to prepare better to defend against that attack.

NFL | Tyrann Mathieu measures 5-foot-9, 186 pounds - Rotoworld.com
LSU CB Tyrann Mathieu measured 5-foot-8 3/4 and 186 pounds at Sunday's NFL Scouting Combine weigh-in. So he's 5-foot-9, 186. Antoine Winfield is 5-foot-9, 190, and Cortland Finnegan is 5-foot-10, 188 on his tippy toes. The size is indeed a concern for Mathieu's chances of playing outside corner in the pros, but he's built perfectly for a slot corner with the ideal kind of aggressive, attacking mentality teams seek at that position. If Mathieu runs in the 4.4s on Tuesday, he could salvage a lot of his stock and potentially be drafted on day two.

2013 NFL Combine: Player with the Most to Gain
'Tis the season of the NFL Combine. Once a year, toward the end of February, dozens of representatives from each NFL team travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the home of the Indianapolis Colts. They spend six days with the top football prospects in the country, measuring them, interviewing them, and watching them run around in spandex, all the while gathering information to aid them in determining which select few they want to invest in, to the tune of millions of dollars.

2013 NFL Combine: Player with the Most to Lose
It’s Combine weekend, and that means we’re devoting our every spare second to earnestly studying college football prospects. Earlier today, we looked at a player who stands to gain a lot from this weekend, if he plays his cards right. Now we’ll take a quick look at a player who could actually lose a lot if he doesn’t perform up to par. That player is West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith.

Scouting Report: Le’Veon Bell
Le’Veon Bell a two star recruit out of Reynoldsburgh Ohio played his high school football at Groveport Madison. Bell was widely recruited by schools in the Midwestern Athletic Conference at his natural position of running back, however he was also recruited as a safety at larger schools such as OSU and WVU.

Scouting Report: Tavon Austin
Intro: Austin has really emerged in the past few weeks as a dynamic playmaker. Many have taken to calling him Tavon Harvin, alluding to his playmaking ability that reminds many (including myself) of the former Florida Gator, or Tavon Awesome, alluding to the obvious- Tavon Austin is awesome. He is obviously undersized, but he compensates for his lack of size with great speed, elite burst, acceleration, change of direction and impressive vision. He doesn’t have great hands, but when he has the ball in his hands anything can happen. He has made some truly amazing plays and put together some extremely impressive performances this season, and almost single-handedly jump-started the West Virginia offense by balancing the offense when they gave him touches at running back out of the backfield. He’s a dynamic player, and he looks like he has a shot at the 1st round. A creative offensive coordinator could get a lot of mileage out of him, but even in a traditional offense he will make plays on offense and on special teams.
