Holy cow it's already Thursday.
NFP Scout Talk | National Football Post
Matt Flynn. NFL teams remain intrigued by Flynn, but not wowed by him. Nobody is dinging him too badly for being beaten out by Russell Wilson in Seattle. But nobody is going to stand on the table for a quarterback with two career starts and 141 career attempts. Flynn remains an unknown five years into his NFL career. "He has shown enough of an upside to merit an opportunity," one front office guy said. Said another: "You probably need a West Coast offense for him. He has an average arm, it’s not a gun. He throws on time pretty well. He isn’t a runner, but he can move in the pocket fairly well. He probably only can get you so far."
Mock draft Wednesday’s: 6th February " Seahawks Draft Blog
I’ve not made a ton of changes this week. Seattle’s first round choice of Rutgers linebackers Khaseem Greene remains unchanged. I noted on Monday why I thought he’d be a likely target. I’ve stuck with it this week despite the availability of Kawaan Short, Sylvester Williams and Dion Jordan.
Futures: Houston LB Phillip Steward | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio
There was another game of note played in the shadow of the Super Bowl this weekend: Texas vs. The Nation. In a case where truth is stranger than fiction, the last of the January-February college all-star games has a title that echoes the state government’s desire for seccession. It’s held at Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas -– a $60 million high school facility. Considering the monstrosity that Jerry Jones built down the road in Dallas, it all makes sense. You just have to understand a Texan’s priorities.

2013 NFL Draft Prospect Profile: Tyrann Mathieu | DraftBrowns.com
Tyrann Mathieu is one of the most intriguing players in the 2013 NFL Draft. After taking college football by storm during the 2011 season and placing 5th in the Heisman Trophy voting, Mathieu was subsequently kicked off LSU’s football team. Mathieu was reportedly a repeat offender of the team’s substance abuse policy. Although he sat out the 2012 season so he could work on his off-the-field issues, Mathieu should still be drafted this April.

Something the Seahawks should consider before pursuing Paul Kruger | Seahawks Blog | Seattle Times
Seattle’s Bruce Irvin had eight sacks in 2012, most of any rookie in the NFL while Baltimore’s Paul Kruger had 6.5 in his first three seasons combined.
Seattle Seahawks 3 Biggest Hits Of 2012 - Vote For Your Favorite - 12th Man Rising - A Seattle Seahawks Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.
The Seahawks were probably the biggest hitting team in the NFL this past season. Every week it seemed that the defense brought some nasty punishment down on the opposing offense.
Seattle Seahawks Blog - Hawk Blogger: 2013 Seahawks Off-Season Analysis Part IV: Linebackers
Seattle fans have come to expect a bonanza every off-season since Pete Carroll and John Schneider have taken over. A full 19 of the 22 starters on offense and defense for the 2013 Seahawks will have been added since those two took over. But this off-season will be different. Few starting jobs are up for grabs. Rookies will struggle to make the roster. Free agents will have to fight for playing time. I will be dissecting the roster position-by-position in an eight-part series, culminating in a recommended off-season recipe for the Seahawks.

Super Bowl XLVII is over, and so is Baltimore's victory parade. But that doesn't mean we can't revisit the Ravens' 34-31 defeat of San Francisco. There were lessons there that should serve as guidelines for the future, and here are five of them.

"Quest unfulfilled," York says Niners aim to win Super Bowl next season | ProFootballTalk
Unlike college football, in which 30 or more teams win a bowl game and lift a trophy and proclaim themselves winners, the NFL has, in the final analysis, one team that is thrilled and 31 that are anything but.
Matt Hasselbeck open to renegotiating contract | ProFootballTalk
Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is set to make $5.5 million this season and has a cap number of $7.5 million, which might be more than the Titans are willing to pay for a backup to Jake Locker.
2013 NFL Draft Big Board 2.0 - NFL - Chris Burke - SI.com
The NFL's annual pre-draft dog-and-pony show kicked off in earnest in the days before Super Bowl XLVII, with the Senior Bowl highlighting a full slate of prospects. We still will not get a glimpse at a lot of the draft's elite talent -- Luke Joeckel, Jarvis Jones, Chance Warmack, etc. -- until the Combine and then, for some, at individual team Pro Days. As such, the caveat presented with Big Board 1.0 holds true again here: The Top 40 will undergo several shake-ups between now and April.
