Seattle Seahawks Blog - Hawk Blogger: The Morning After: Percy Harvin Is A Seahawk
Move over Russell Wilson. There are going to be two NFL MVP candidates on the Seahawks offense after the team agreed to terms on a deal for Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin. Harvin is a player with such immense talent that he was being discussed as a league MVP candidate last season on the team that wound up having the MVP on it. He is the ultimate maximizer. Give him an inch, and he'll take a yard? Give Harvin an inch, and he very well may take 100 yards. There is, quite simply, no player on the Seahawks roster like Harvin. There may no other player in the NFL like him. On a team with plenty of gap power, John Schneider and Pete Carroll just added their home run hitter. That kind of power comes at a price.
Front Office Power Rankings: The NFL's best decision-makers - NFL - Don Banks - SI.com
As I wrote of the Seahawks in critiquing their bold trade for Vikings receiver-return man Percy Harvin on Monday, they are not afraid to swim against the tide in making personnel decisions, be it selecting first-round picks like Bruce Irvin and James Carpenter higher than most had them rated, or investing in a third-round quarterback from Wisconsin (Russell Wilson) despite his less-than-prototypical size. Seattle has a little moxie and method to its madness, and it has generated a lot of respect from fellow NFL front offices in the past year, with the deal for Harvin being another potentially beneficial move for a club that has the courage of its convictions.

Latavius Murray, Montee Ball might have best hands in NFL draft - The Denver Post
Murray went 407 carries at Central Florida without losing a fumble, including this past season when he led Conference USA in rushing. His last lost fumble came in 2008, against Memphis, when Mike Shanahan was still the Broncos' coach. It was Murray's only lost fumble in his career — which had 453 carries. "I guess I just have always understood the ball is important; playing another down is important," Murray said. "You always want the extra yard, to give your team a little something extra, to get everything you can out of a run. But you have to finish with the ball in your hands, and I think ball security on every play.
Dismiss Harvin’s winter of discontent - Seahawks - The Olympian - Olympia, Washington news, weather and sports
You may fairly wonder about Percy Harvin’s expense to the Seattle Seahawks, since his acquisition by trade with the Minnesota Vikings involves three draft picks, including this year’s 25th overall. And you may be concerned about the receiver’s durability, since he missed half of last season with an ankle sprain.
Ahmad Bradshaw, Desmond Bryant among best potential free agency bargains | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
Desmond Bryant, DT, Oakland Raiders: Another potential game-changer as an interior pass-rusher, and he's on the radar of a lot of different teams. Put up four sacks in 2012, but 11 quarterback hits and 20 hurries -- per PFF, his 35 total pressures ranked him fourth among all qualifying defensive tackles. Did not help himself with a recent arrest and criminal mischief charge, but you know how it goes -- guys standing 6-foot-6 who weigh 300 pounds and can harass a quarterback will have suitors. Bryant's price could ramp right up as the free agency process rolls along.

Russell Wilson gets a big ol’ bonus | Seahawks Blog | Seattle Times
There was no bigger bargain in the NFL last season than quarterback Russell Wilson. Seattle’s rookie quarterback was so good, in fact, that he got himself a bonus of $222,000, which isn’t all that much in a league where signing bonuses can reach eight figures, but it is more than half the base salary Wilson earned as a rookie drafted in the third round.

Cris Carter: Vikings 'better off' following Percy Harvin trade - CBSSports.com
"I think the organization did the right thing," Carter said, per Mark Craig of the Minnesota Star-Tribune. "I'm not surprised, given the situation with him not being happy and there being so little chance of a contract extension for the type of money he wants. "So they're better off, especially with a young quarterback, trading Percy and getting something for him compared to going through the season rolling the dice."
