Seahawks’ Spencer Ware, wherever he plays, promises to be physical | Seahawks | The Seattle Times
“I don’t think we’ll know about Spencer until you get him into pads because he is a very physical football player,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “Remember, we thought he was the toughest running back in college football last year, so we hope to see that when he carries the ball, as well as blocking.”

Veteran center Jonathan Goodwin remained in South Carolina for most of the offseason program to work out on his own. He joined OTAs last week. And cornerback Tarell Brown spent most of his offseason in Texas, concentrating on speed workouts. Up to this point, the workouts have been "voluntary." There is no penalty for players who decide to train on their own, unless a player has a workout bonus he would not collect due to his absence. Goodwin does not have a workout bonus, and Brown has forfeited a workout bonus of $75,000.

Rice then had 1,143 rushing yards and nine touchdowns in 2012 despite having his fewest carries since his rookie season in 2008.

87-Day NFL Warning: The St. Louis Rams, the NFC West's Other Other Good Team - The Triangle Blog - Grantland
Three years ago, the NFC West was, without argument, the worst division in professional football. Marshawn Lynch beasting people and their 41-36 win quickly made the circumstances of getting there unimportant, but it hasn’t been that long since the Seattle Seahawks were 7-9 and hosting a playoff game. It was a historically bad collection of teams, and that futility is what makes the current NFC landscape so difficult to understand.
