The Seattle Seahawks social media team's twist on the 2023 schedule reveal was not a video! This time in honor of the impending 1990s throwback uniforms they matched every game on the schedule to an album cover associated with the Seattle music scene. How many can you identify? I got the Nirvana one and Sir Mix-A-Lot, but you've also got Alice in Chains, and uh... yeah I'm stuck from there. But it's cool as hell! Check out the Eagles one for a good laugh.
Forgot I heard about some of this, never knew it was him with the Mississippi water trucks. Seriously classy guy with a mean streak rushing the passer. Thrilled to be rooting for him!
"Reborn" indeed, Russell Okung. It's not uncommon to see offensive linemen lose a lot of weight after retirement, but the 34-year-old former Seattle Seahawks left tackle looks unrecognizable just three seasons removed from his last year in the NFL.
Patti Hammond, better known as Seahawks superfan 'Mama Blue', passed away on March 4th at the age of 92. Mama Blue was the first fan to raise the 12 Flag at Lumen Field back in 2007, and she was inducted into the Fan Hall of Fame in 1999.
"Patti’s joy and passion for the Seahawks was unmatched. She was the ultimate 12, loud and loyal since day one, and was beloved by everyone in our organization," said Seahawks president Chuck Arnold. "Sending all our love to her family. She will be truly missed but never forgotten."
An iconic fan known for her colorful glasses and wigs--she was a hairdresser for 65 years--Mama Blue will be missed by the Seahawks community. Our condolences go out to the Hammond family.
Just received a text this morning from Olson that he’s happily returning to the west coast and has been hired by the Seahawks as the new QB coach. I won’t post the text, but in his words "Go Hawks!"
DK Metcalf can do incredible things, but this is surely too good to be true and probably some marketing campaign for Fast Twitch Gatorade. I don't think his 40.5" vertical can be achieved jumping like that! Whatever the case, let's get some one-handed DK grabs next year.
Jason McIntyre, co-host of "The Herd with Colin Cowherd," made a preseason wager that if the Seahawks finished the regular season above .500, he'd get the team logo shaved into the side of his head. At the time, Cowherd said "I think you're safe" and McIntyre replied "I know I'm safe." Well he wasn't safe. The August bet backfired, but thankfully he is keeping his promise and now it's time to pay up. Check out the video and the results! I think he needs some dye to color that logo in just to make it real good.
Pretty impressive for a guy who is only making his 4th career playoff start! The other two? A 53-yarder against the Eagles and a 51-yarder against the Rams. For comparison, Randy Moss has 15 career playoff games to his name.
The Seahawks found the end zone again, this time on a long 3rd down completion to DK Metcalf. Hawks up, 14-13!
After falling down 10-0, the Seahawks engineered a long touchdown drive that culminated in this TD scamper by Walker. 10-7!
