UPDATE 8:00AM Monday:
The Seahawks have contacted [Antoine Winfield about a return to the team], a source told FOX Sports. And while Winfield announced his retirement at the end of training camp with Seattle, it wasn't truly a retirement. The 36-year-old Winfield has continued to work out and has heard from several teams recently but has turned down all offers. He's looking for a chance to play in his first Super Bowl and the Seahawks could give him that opportunity.
-----------
Dot-connecting, agent propaganda or inside information? That's the question.
Can't imagine Seahawks don't double back to free agent CB Antoine Winfield, who was w/them in camp, with Thurmond suspended and Browner hurt

Just said on @FOXSportsLive don't be surprised if the Seahawks turn to Antoine Winfield for help following the Walter Thurmond suspension.

Actually, the question is whether or not he's still in game-type shape and would be ready to hit the ground running. We'll probably find out early this week.
Has continued to work out. Never really retired. Has turned away a few interested teams. RT @TySartor: what kind of shape is he in though?

If Winfield has been waiting until late in the season to catch on with a contender, this is a good shot for him. We'll see where he is physically and mentally.
